Short synopsis of the day.
Suitcase promised by airport transport in afternoon.
Made makeshift dental clinic and did the two procedures we had basic equipment for - exams, scaling teeth and cosmetic bonding on some of the kids broken teeth. Had time for more but not equipment.
Suitcase delivered to Marriott Hotel where Aaron stayed first night, refused, and sent back to airport.
Erin (the volunteer coordinator) on phone many times trying to straighten out mess and give directions to airport driver. Promised a call back but received none.
Sun set, no suitcase.
Tara a tad upset. Aaron worried.
Driver from Rising Star agrees to take Aaron and Erin the 4 hours round trip to airport to be in line at 10pm when customs opens so we can get our suitcase.
Oops. Driver has suitcase in his car at his house.
Erin and Aaron wait for airport driver to bring suitcase back to airport.
Suitcase now in Aaron's possession. Should be back to Rising Star by 1:30am.
Tired. Many pictures but will have to post later.

This beauty will have to tide you over...
Ugh! So sorry to hear! Fortunately there were no "driver asleep at house" or "location of suitcase and driver unknown" comments! Best of luck guys. We're proud of you all, praying for you, and wishing you the best!
ReplyDeleteGood grief! Hopefully the matter is now resolved after a few tanks of gas and some headaches. Reminds me of similar misadventures when we flew to Denmark in 2000. Miscommunication and clueless people provide ample "enticements" for losing one's patience. There must be a lesson here... (so says your wise ol' dad)
ReplyDeleteThere's a lesson in it for sure and no doubt you guys will find it! That picture is beautiful indeed... as it is well earned! You were on my mind in the wee hours of the morning. Daughter was up late doing homework and as I woke up to that, got her situated and to bed, I couldn't get back to sleep. That never happens to me! Not a fan. But really sympathized with you. :) XO
